Bane Ignacio-Singian
biography
Bane Ignacio-Singian (they/he) is a Filipino-American and queer filmmaker based in Seattle, Washington.
As a child, my father and grandmother were always glued to the TV—my father with his early 2000s serials and my grandmother with her TFC soap operas. We lived by a Blockbuster, then later became heavy subscribers to Redbox and Netflix’s mail-in program, so it was no wonder that I fell so deeply in love with the medium.

As an adult, my work is themed around childhood and found family, often under the lens of my cultural and/or gender identity. I also work with the camera department—from DP’ing on MiniDV to writing meticulous camera notes as an AC—and design posters and title sequences for films.
Their previous work has been selected for the All Asian Independent Film Festival in 2021 and has premiered in France with its sister festival, the European Independent Film Festival.
